Its’ that time of year again when a couple of our guys (or girls) pack an over night bag, jump in the car and drive up to Birmingham to the N.E.C for the annual BPM pro exhibition. This years exhibition was smaller than the previous years that we have visited but still had some great new tech on show and the headliner was The magnificent Jazzy Jeff who played in the Chauvet lighting arena kicking off with a Q + A session then doing a 90 minute cross genre mix which was as always seamless & flawless. Once again in our eyes Pioneer dominated revealing the new XDJ RX2 all in one stand alone unit and the DJS 1000 the standalone sampler unit to work with your choice of DJ software alongside your CDJ set up. Lighting throughout the event was mainly supplied by Chauvet but we also like some of the new ADJ lights being released. DJkit.co.uk were doing some great deals on all your DJ requirements at there pop up shops and there was plenty of places to grab yourself a drink and walk around watching all the DJs at the stands doing there thing. Our guys managed to watch sets by Kissy Sell Out, Joshua and Official Nancie which we as expected both perfectly mixed and very entertaining. The after party put on by ADJ was in the World Bar which had a great piano duet covering all ranges of music and really ended the day well. All in all the BPM Pro festival was a good day seeing whats new & upcoming in the DJ & Lighting world but unfortunately its does seem to be getting smaller each year and we hope it will still be an annual exhibition in years to come for like minded DJs,Event planners & people who are looking to get in to the industry.
